Why Varnandh

Color blindness may make the world look different, but it doesn't make it any less beautiful. - Unknown

Varnandh

If you search for the word "Varnandh" you will easily discover that it means "color blindness" in Sanskrit. It took me some time to understand what it meant to be a color-blind human in the real world. From childhood, I believed the world and its colors were the same as I saw them. However, as you grow older, you begin to realize that something doesn't seem quite right. Calling dark navy blue jeans "black jeans," struggling to name the colors of objects, or consistently failing the yearly color plate test at school and college. All of these and more subtle experiences made me wonder, am I perceiving the world as it truly is?

With that said, I have good news from my personal experience: it really doesn't matter. I can still see the world as it is. I can still appreciate the beauty of nature, the colors of the rainbow, the lush greenery of forests, the vivid blue of the ocean, and that "insert your color" of a chilled glass of beer. The only difference is that I see them differently. I see them in my own way. I see them in my unique colors.

As a result, in my projects, you will notice me playing with rather strange dark and light colors. I am fully aware that the shades might look somewhat off to you. But I have made peace with it. After being stuck in a loop of perfecting the colors, trying to overcompensate for my color blindness, I decided to let it go. I chose to let my colors be my colors. And this is the reason why I named my website "Varnandh". I hope you will enjoy my colors as much as I do and never let your colors be defined by others.

Thank you for reading this. I hope you have a great day.
